It's that time again, I need network security help. How would I go about configuring my DD-WRT router to run all traffic through an anonymous proxy server? If that is not possible, what should I do to route all traffic through a proxy server with the guarantee that no web server can log my IP?
I have researched this myself. But I absolutely suck with proxies/stealthiness. I couldn't even configure Firefox to work with most proxy servers.
One other thing, is there a way to completely hide my IP?

I don't know anything about routers. But I do know how to anonymize Firefox. Use Tor. Download the "Torbutton" extension for firefox, then download Vidalia and Privoxy [http://vidalia-project.net/download.php]. They're both in a package or something. Install those, run them, and then click the Tor Button in the bottom right of your Firefox. It proxies everything, and though it's really slow, it works.

Panda uses the same things I use when needed.
To answer your other questions, if you use even 1 proxy, no website will log your true IP address.
To answer your last question, if someone wants to find you, they'll find you. There is no way to completely, 100% hide your IP address. However, using the tools that Panda gave you, it'll make it substantially more difficult to track you down.

Thanks. I take it there is no way to configure my router to work with an ordinary proxy.
I have a question then, how do people like Muslix64 not get caught? They post on a public forum that would undoubtedly turn over info to the feds if asked for it... How can they remain anonymous?

Couldn't he also use ssh and bounce through a number of different computers in addition to going to proxies.. ?
Either way I imagine it achieves the same end. The more hops, the more difficult to trace back..

Isn't that basically a proxy?

jed. you have to give them your shipping address anyway when you order your russian bride... so you might as well just let them store your ip address too. unless you are just window shopping, then keep the ip address for yourself.

First, Tor only protects Internet applications that are configured to send their traffic through Tor ? it doesn't magically anonymize all your traffic just because you install it. We recommend you use Firefox with the Torbutton extension.
Second, browser plugins such as Java, Flash, ActiveX, RealPlayer, Quicktime, Adobe's PDF plugin, and others can be manipulated into revealing your IP address... I thought you might want to know that Panda, before you do something you'd regret. What I would need is something that anonymizes all traffic, regardless of how hard the program tried to get my IP. That is why I wanted to configure my router to route traffic through a proxy. I figured that any local attempt to collect my IP by a program would give it my network IP. And if it tried something remotely it would hit the proxy upon return. But maybe it could still figure out my IP along the way? Anyway, no brides for Jed today. I will be lonely this week,

I don't do anything too shady with that program, mainly get around stupid content blockers. Stupid school not allowing the downloads of torrents. I'll show them.
