Jake I wanted to ask you if there is anything I can do about my ping. Or is it simply my providers problem. I have a ping steady of about 118 on our server or the boe server. Pretty constant. Is there anything I can do to lower besides going with another provider?

If you have qwest DSL, that would explain it.

DSL != good for gaming, which is why I ping 60 to our server when I'm only 3 hours away from it.

If you want to get a better ping, I would reccomend Cable.

LOL,  I get a 55 ping, and I'm what....   29 hours (2000 miles) away from it.  YAY cable!

I'm going with Fiber though at my new house when I find one to buy.

Killa, can you switch to a cable internet provider?  or is DSL your only option?

If you have fiber, I'd take that over Cable any day.

BTW ask them if they can ping our server IP to give you an estimate. No point in switching if it is going to be worse.

Fiber rules and is probably neither available in your area nor planned in the near future.

I have 8 down (about 16-24 since powerboost), but I pinged excellent to the server with 4.  Really though, CS uses almost no traffic at all.  It's not necessarily about the pipe, just the ping.  It should be standard for all of them, but I'd go with at least 3-4.

Just call and ask what they ping to the ip address.
