Well...  Lets hope it passes once they finish IE8... Which means it would have to get through final development without various departments getting their say into the mix.

But yes.. REJOICE!

Hooray!  In 3 years when the majority of IE users have adopted IE7, IE8 will be released and have full compliance with CSS 2.1 while CSS3, XHTML2 and HTML5 will have become the norm.

It's a never ending cycle.  We'll never win.  But it's exciting to see them moving forward, on the one hand.  On the other hand if they'd finally give up web users would be forced to switch to other browsers that all render similarly and are packed full of additional features.

I can't wait for Firefox 3.  It astounds me that any open source browser, especially one this popular has not been standards compliant from the start.  Boo to the people at Mozilla that supported this novel idea.

Awesome!  I never expected them to release IE8 in a timely manner.  Which is why I was sorely disappointed with 7.  If they would have spent 2 extra weeks on developing 7...

I wonder if this will mean most upgraders will switch direct from 6 to 8?  I hope so because 7 has some weird glitches I encounter all the time.
