Who should I go with for registering a new domain and why?

godaddy.  It's cheap.  I wouldn't go with them for hosting, but they're the cheapest I've found for registering a domain name.

If you're not going to host it yourself there are lots of companies that will give a free domain with their hosting plan.

I'll host it myself.  I already have a box set up and I don't plan on getting a lot of traffic.
