Flash is damn straightforward.  Super easy to learn.  Action script is also very easy to learn.  Although I still have some trouble with it... that's why I'm taking a Flash class.

That combo does have it's advantages.  So long as you aren't moving gifs around using java.  I'd just stick with it.

If your considering jumping into flash, I would wait a few days and get flash CS3.  I bet you it will be even easier to learn for us photoshop users.

Exactly the same for me.  I spent some time with it and was like "well screw this."

Flash + Webdesign/Actionscript = Failure 99.99% of the time, success .01% of the time.

I think I've seen 1-2 flash websites that I've been impressed with, the rest have just sucked hardcore.

In my opinion you should never do an entire website in flash.  It may look neat sometimes, but it screws everything else up.  Particularly search engines.  Just stick with normal web design and integrate cool flash.

if your site were that cool, you wouldn't need search engines to find it. boo ya!

I agree - making a webpage entirely out of flash generally isn't the best idea. I've seen some SUPER BADASS pages done in flash, but that takes A LOT of time. Some examples would be miniusa (http://www.miniusa.com/#) - this guy has made some really good web pages. twiworks.net is also a great site and makes great sites. I use to have a bunch booked marked (I steal)

Side note.. I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!! FOR FLASH CS3!!!!!!!!!!!!!oneone!!

Just the adobe ill and ps native support is enough. ::drool::  But, AS3 is also real nice for those looking to do a lot more through code.

good talk.
