Oracle = </3

I have two Oracle servers in production.  One app server and one db server.  Within the next month or two, I get the distinct honor of combining the two into one.  I need to learn a ton more about it because right now it is my most hated system ever.

We use Oracle on a number of our systems.  I just basically make sure the the DBA for the project set it up appropriately with the front end system.  Thats one part of my job anyways.  Lots of Queries in Oracle...

I'm basically the resident everything that has to do with IT here, including DBA.  I guess that comes with the territory when you're the IT manager for a smallish (80 employees) company.

i originally got started with oracle when learning databases, but soon went to sql server (mainly because at the time, MSDE was free, and oracle wasn't, then they came out with the free oracle and ms came out with sql server express, and all my code ported to express).

Also, sql server is more bang for the buck. oracle is sooooooooooo dirty expensive. so for small business, sql server is for me. but if you were a big company, then oracle or sql server enterprise would probably be the choice for you.

i still miss "seeds" in oracle though. i think that's what they were called. for composite keys.
