don't read this thread if you don't want to read any spoilers. i'm about to ruin the end....

this movie was more x-files than the upcoming x-files movie.

by far my favorite thing about the movie was that the people who were out for power and money DIED!!!

knowledge was the treasure and should be the real treasure and primary goal for all earths inhabitants. just imagine what humans could accomplish if power over others and financial gain was unimportant to humanity.

thats what i thought the movie was all about and what i have actually been thinking about for the last couple of months.

i seriously said to my friend that the end was just like the first x-files movie.

it was like star wars because:

1) the evil woman has the force
2) when they opened the first opened that big door by blowing up the "circuit" or w/e, that reminded so much of star wars eps 1 when darth maul used the force to send an object into the circuit

george of the jungle:

1) when indi's son was swinging from vine to vine with the monkeys

what was soo weird to my wife and me was that the first indy was arc and covenant religious mythology, temple of doom was indian (india) religious mythology and last crusade was holy grail religious mythology, and this one was ... x-files mythology. Smiley

true no actual mythology, maybe i should have put quotation marks in that last post.

and this one was ... "x-files mythology." Smiley

there how's that for you. just trying to keep with the form of mythology.

basically everything they had in that movie about the aliens was right out of x-files. when the movie started in nevada i wondered, and when indy said it was highly magnetized, it confirmed my suspicion but i tried to keep an open mind until the crate said roswell on it, having been an avid follower of x-files i knew exactly where the movie was going.

and then they proceeded to  Beaten   i guess i was able to enjoy the movie still because i just waited for the next reference from one of the greatest shows ever written.

i have to put a plug in for the x-files because that show is the reason i first hung out with my wife. Afro

taylor's little sister told me it was all about aliens before i went.  silly girl.  i might not have even noticed the crate said Roswell if i hadn't been looking for aliens to begin with.

I didn't notice. :-/  I think the movie had a lame second half.  But the first half was very Indiana Jones.

Yeah, I thought, "Oh no, please don't let this be about aliens..." right at the beginning when the opened the huge doors that just happened to say "51" where all of the boxes were stored.
