This is a really great show now airing it's second season on Sci-Fi. The premise is that a town was erected in the United States where the worlds greatest minds could unite and create together without having to worry about regular folks mucking things up. So the town is jam packed full of people with handfuls of PhDs, constantly inventing new things, and often creating new problems.

Enter Jack Carter, a US Marshall who stumbles upon the town when picking up his semi-estranged daughter from her latest run-in with the law. In his exploration of the strange town, events transpire which lead him to become the new Sherriff. In his new position he is often called on to solve the various muck-ups the many colourful scientists create, despite being probably the least educated person in the town.

This show is a blast. There are dozens of wacky scientists, great plots, and great application of Carter's everyman wit. Despite being a sci-fi show with relatively detailed science fiction plots, the show is more of a comedy, and has the characters interacting very well. This was probably my favorite show of last summer and I can't wait for new episodes to air.

I've seen a lot of previews for this show but just never put it on the DVR to record... I just may now... Doesn't look bad.

Thanks for recommending this show GF.  I have really enjoyed it so far.  It delves into some fascinating scientific theories with moderate realism, and fun comedy.

Review: I like how original it is for a Scifi.  You lack the good and evil. There are no wars being waged, there isn't even an enemy for the most part.  However you don't lose interest, and it is certainly not boring.  There is a large, gradually developing plot that is fairly intriguing.  The characters are pretty believable as well.  The show is about the characters lives, and krazy science.

What I love most about the show is how natural it is.  You don't have characters that strictly talk about work like on other shows, instead the characters engage in normal conversations when they aren't actively dealing with catastrophe.  The humor is great.  It doesn't feel like the writers are looking for times to be funny.  And the show is still quite humorous at times.

I'm very glad I started watching this show.  Sadly I don't think this show will run for another season, it just feels like a show that is going to get canceled :/.  But with the Scifi network, you never know which shows they will cancel, and which ones will run for 11 seasons...

Glad you like it Jed. When they began season 2, they got a huge budget increase and now have the biggest set space in the building they're in, so I'm hoping that means that SciFi has a lot of confidence in the show, and as long as they can keep the ratings up I'm hoping for a 3rd season. Really, I'm just glad they got to season 2. Too many good shows get knocked out after just one short season and it's a damned shame most of the time.
