I just got back from 300. It was amazing. Had more blood than Kill Bill, great cinematography, awesome story. And best thing was: it was in IMAX. Hell yeah. I would recommend for anyone who doesn't mind violence to go see it. Yeah. Go see it. I give it: Two panda paws up!  |

I didn't like it so much. I thought Sin City was better.
Okay, whenever there was fighting going on, or some bizzare ugly chopping heads or whatever, it was fun to watch. Whenever somebody started talking ... yech. I don't need to mention that it's also wildly inaccurate and that it seems often to be more like 30 than 300 Spartans (probably because they couldn't find more than that many men with ripped abs).
Oh, and the shoddy preaching about freedom and the god-awful, soap-opera cheapness of the whole queen/traitor bits. It was hard not to laugh a little at the sex scene (clue: every new angle doesn't need to start with a gasp).
Mostly, I was disappointed with the dialog. It seems everything has been reduced down to wise-assery in some shows, which is a good clue that the writers are inexperienced and utterly clueless on how to write convincing, realistic dialog (I think this very topic was discussed in one of Michael Connelly's novels).

Yeah, i watched it last night, and people seroiusly laughed at this scene. |
