Did CAL pay money for the development of cpl_fire?  It was only removed because of round time limitations when cal went 16k.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was put back into the rotation next season, unlike scorched which was a pretty 'meh' map design.  why not keep fire in the rotation?

Won't happen, the reason it got removed from Invite/Main was because A)it's never played on LAN B) Every time CAL tries to throw it back in there is howls from every team to take it out and C) They want every division to play all the same maps.

That aside, I agree, it's a well known map, and it actually works pretty well on pubs, no really reason to not keep it in, and it could possibly make pre-season ina  season to come.
