K, I know someone of you have experienced this before...

On login to windows xp past the login screen (just randomly started happening.) Sometimes it just literally times out for 30 seconds, no harddrive activity, no increased fan speed to signify increase in processor load.

All I have to say is... what the f'ck?

What kind of bullshit halts bootup like that and then finishes logging in like nothin ever happened? Any ideas?! suggestions are greatly appreciated...

Reinstall.  Bootup issues like that warrant a reinstall.

Either reinstall or chkdsk -r (ran from the recovery console)

Beyond that there are some other options, but chkdsk -r is usually a good place to start.
