i am building a website for our union local and I want to stick a blog type news update thing on my front page.  i am using yahoo's site builder and cannot figure out how to make it work...  any help would be appreciated...thanks!

Plenty of open source (free) pre-configured websites.  If you're going to be doing a blog, integrating Wordpress into any of these websites would be a breeze.  If the site is ONLY going to be a blog, just download and install/configure Wordpress.  It's completely easy if you follow their documentation.
