I just opened 60 applications at once in OS X to see what would happen...
Not one of them crashed, all of them opened (It took about 2 and a half minutes for everything to finish... ) and the OS built in Expose feature worked flawlessly..
It didn't take long to close them all down..
Now if I only had 60 applications installed in Vista I could compare... unfortunately I only have games installed in Windows so I can't test.
Anyone want to let me know what happens?

Once they were open did you tell them all to start doing some task and continue doing it? 60 active open apps could be fun stuff, but since I have some meaningful stuff to do with my time. Ok so I don't but I still don't feel like wasting my time finding out how many apps I can have open just to start a flame war.

Just for the sake of argument.
I don't care if you're the most amazing woman on the planet, you cannot do 60 things at once and I can't think of a process that requires me to have 60 programs open at once.
Come to think about it, I don't think I even have 60 programs installed...

Mongoose, It takes all of 3 clicks to do this in OS X because they put all their Apps executable files in one folder. So It didn't take much of my time. I was just curious to see what would happen.
Crackie you have what.. 4 gb ram? 64 bit? You have 200 applications?

Hey that's cool. Being obsessive compulsive and a web developers that has to slodge through what other developers have done, I like logical structure.

i have 2 gb right now, 4 gig of ram in the mail. my crucial sticks kept dying so i gave up on them and ordered 4 gb of g.Skill
also, on a side note, it seems like you are running out of things to post about apple if you are posting how many applications a current gen OS can open simultaneously :p

I did that once, but only 2gb. g.Skill for the win! At least with a DFI mobo.

Corsair runs awesome on those boards too. DFI pretty much recommends any Corsair stick for their slot. Plus Corsair is like a friend with benefits, but g.Skill is just a friend.

You're welcome. And remember: there's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over.

Personally I don't think there's a big difference between the gaming lines of RAM with any of these, unless your going to overclock your RAM. But if you're going to do that you're hopefully looking at the very high end lines with the ribbing or watercooling.
The only reason I always stick with Corsair is cause I've had to RMA RAM to them, and dealing with their company was super quick and easy plus they payed for everything. Also I read an article they published comparing their RAM's cooling with a competitors. And it was the most unbiased comparison I've ever seen from a company. If you ask me, they're a cool company and deserve my business.

Ok so for those of you playing along at home that's Mac OS 10(yeah that's what the dumbass X stands for) 60 apps, Windows Vista(latin for in da butt) 200 apps. So who is gonna do linux, unix, and any other os out there? Somebody needs to knock MS off their high horse.
