Intermittent Reoccuring Lag Spikes.

So.... I've got AT&T DSL and I'm getting lag spikes. When I lag it is for around .5 -1 second and my choke shoots from 0-10.

My current setup is on a 2.53Ghz Monteniva Dual Core, 9700M GT 512MB DDR3, and 4 GB RAM.

Any idea what it might be? and/or how to fix it?

I hope its not my isp being gay.

You have DSL... That is probably the problem.

Latro's right.  The problem is almost certainly with your ISP.

Are you the only computer on your LAN?
If not, what are the other computers doing when this happens?
How often does this problem occur?

If you aren't sure, I'd start a stream of pings to the CSS server.

Start > Run > cmd
ping -t 69.147.235.59

Find out the frequency, then call your ISP and have them do the same to your cable modem.  They should be able to reproduce the problem if it's on their side.

Also, get something other than DSL.
