Ok well basically my desktop is broken, lucky for my laptop...It all started last night. So i was looking at some materials on the internet, when a shock site window popped up on my computer, instead of adult materials (as was intended). So, thinking fast and not being able to look at the screen, i unplugged my computer while it was on and this was occurring.  And now...it won't turn on. Is this related to that possible virus pop up? I think it's more feasible that i short circuited my power supply or something...i dunno, any advice would be appreciated.

A virus wouldn't cause your PC to power up.  You get NO power whatsoever?  If that's the case, your power supply is bad.  The good news is that they are cheap to replace.  If it powers up at all but just won't POST, the problem isn't the power supply.

And you can be straight with us.  "Some materials" = prawn.  "Shock site window" = two girls one cup.

Im not getting a light at all when i push the button, so the power supplies dead?

How hard did you jerk the power cable out of the PSU?

Have you tried using the power button on the mobo itself? You could have jostled a few things loose - make sure to check all connections before we cry bad PSU.

I jerked it out pretty hard, i don't remember if i saw a spark or not but I didn't rattle anything around, I think a short circuit is probable.

Go to your local computer store in Canada and get a new power supply.  If you find avril there send her my way.

Moral of the story:  If you are a scared of prawn just push the power button on your monitor, it is quicker and safer than yanking your own cord.  The best surge protector won't help when you start causing your own power issues behind the protection.
