Abuya?!?

Discuss.

Expect a plan/signup/strategy for next sunday's practice by Tuesday.

My Discussion:

I thought we were wholly unprepared, and extremely lacking in organization. For future practices I believe we need to have a completely different set up:

Squads with squad leaders decided.
Interchannel Communication and everyone on vent.
Everyone's keys bound correctly so that vent does not do in game as well.
A detailed write up on strategy for each map.
A detailed write up on who should be doing what for each map.
A military style leadership breakdown.

Now what I just described is what BoE used to do for DoD: S scrimmmages. There was a definite leadership breakdown, everyone knew what they should be doing, where they should be, and who was in charge. People were broken in to squads, with individual squad leaders, and an overall commander.

With things set up that way we could join the public server at 7:00 sunday night, everyone knew what squads they were in, everyone was on TS in the right area, and things went very smoothly. I hope we can do this next week.

I also believe that we need to put squad/rank in to our names, and if we dont' do rank, at the very least squads.

That would mean my name would be
Pv2.Laby[oPg]A
Whereas someone on B squad would be
Lt.Killa[oPg]B

That way we know who is in charge, who should be where, etc... Would make it so we don't have the constant "who is on what team?" giong on.

I believe we could have EASILY won EVERY single round we played if we had good organization/communication. So let's plan on getting a write up for every single practice before hand.

Just for reference here is a write up I did for a SF squad I led in a BoE practice. Granted, it's for a SF squad, so it's very specialized. But the concept would apply to a general scrim.

-----------------

I currently have the following spots available, I'm going to run it as first come, first serve. I know there are some of you who are natural snipers out there; so if you want your favorite spot, ya gotta be quick.

Alpha Squad
MG A- Prometheus
Sniper A- Laby

Beta Squad
MG B - Groll
Sniper B - Meinzer

Strategy

Alpha Squad

Sniper Alpha - Here is your postion

You are responsible for the church tower area, and overall, making sure that MG Alpa does not die.

MG Alpha - Here is your position

You are responsible for killing as much as possible, keeping middle clear, and not letting anything through.

Beta Squad

Sniper Beta - Here is your position

You are responsible for the middle, allied sniper nest, and the roof above allied 2nd.

MG Beta - Here is your position

You have one of the more potent positions, being near impossible to kill. Thusly, keep the middle clear, and don't let anything through.

Overhead - This shows snipers in Blue and MG's in red, if you dont' know where your position is, this should help. It also shows the line of sight you will be responsible for.

Good luck, and hope to see you there.
Laby out.

I would have to say that we need to work on everything. We need to set up better strategys for covering, rushing ( i must have shot milkman at least 10 times on accident....) and where we are going to go. I have all my mic stuff set up hopefully we need together laby to make sure. When we play next will i need to change my name to dcr because dirtychinese restaurant is way to long to put ranks and squads in there. I am intrested in what kind of stuff you will have for us on tuesday. Also we need to get all of the opg memembers OFF THERE ASS'S and come help out. If they do not practice then when we have a real scrim we will be in trouble. About the spots for who buys what gun i have no prefrence so just give me what everyone doesnt take. alright see you later.

DCR out

I agree Laby.  I would first discuss with someone who really knows their stuff though, Jake was in Vertex once, right?  He could be a good source of info.

To Dirty Chinaman: yeah, i'd say you should shorten ur name to DCR, and it looks kewl and appears almost like the DPRK of north korea, lawlawlawlawl.

To Jeda: hey, force him out the info on how they flash; the vertex team is really effective on that.

Well, i'll have to say this again. Sunday nights really is a time i cannot play css soley becuz of my parents who are even against me playing it, and will just give me long long lectures if they catch me. If you have strict parents like me (particularly in an asian family), then you might understand more, but i'm sure you guys get my drift.

i play at nights (around midnight) but only so my parents don't know (there's only a fuking wall between our rooms!). So really the best time for me are during the afternoons.

sorry for being so hard to work with.

So beyond being unable to attend the practices i'll of course keep my committment to opg activity on the forums and whenever i'm able to game it up.

lol i sound so lame....
