I have Vista 64 for about two weeks. Haven't installed it yet though, don't know if I could take the performance hit. I have an 8800 in the mail. Once I get it I'll feel fairly comfortable with installing Vista.

I wouldn't. And I got it from an MSDN license. I had it installed for exactly 2 1/2 days before removing it and reinstalling XP.

I installed x64 Vista for the hell of it - and to take advantage of the 4GB of RAM I just slapped in the box. I'll test the 64 bit version of CS. It will likely be the only native 64bit software I'll run.

I thought that CS wasn't running in 64 bit yet... just HL2?
I know that they both use the hl2.exe file but I wasn't sure if CS actually boots up with the 64 bit version.?

No, there isn't a 64 bit version of CS. Or at least there wasn't a month ago when I was sporting xp64.
I actually took a performance hit of about 13 fps in 64 bit.

Laby's right - I'd seen the 64 bit HL2 info a few months ago and thought it applied globally. Too bad - thought I had something to justify the x64 Vista existence on my HD. Oh well - someday there will be 64 bit DX10 games.
