dudes. if people wanted to give their money to support a cause, good on them. if LDS people donated the most, then good on them. if people donated a lot of money in support, then good on them. it's good to see people sticking up for what they believe in. but there will always be winners, and there will always be losers. and as always, us Americans hate to lose, and when we do, we'll whine and bitch and sue until we get our way.
just because people donate to something and that passes, doesn't mean that it's because of them that it passed. when people go to the polls, they might say "hey, i don't agree with that" and vote against it, EVEN WITHOUT EVER HEARING ABOUT IT FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE. all the propositions i voted on i never heard about, i just read through it and made a decision.
I was just thinking, if I was someone who gave a whole gob on money to the this specific cause, what a meaningless victory it would be. "Hey, I sure helped make a whole bunch of people lives temporarily shittier, woohoo!"
