The stock answer when I was an orientation leader was that they make you well rounded. Uh huh. Actually, though, I really enjoyed my gen ed classes. If you do it right and don't have scheduling conflicts you should be picking classes that interest you. I took nutrition, human development, music theory, Asian art history, etc. and loved them all. The only class I really, really hated was my QB requirement, a class through the philosophy department about rational decision making. Stupid class had a huge section on statistics. Luckily there were some cute, helpful boys living in my dorm building that year who helped me out. Smiley

Yeah I don't get why you hate general education classes, take the ones that look fun.

Nutrition is a good example. I also liked Ancient Roman History and I took a class called Biology of Addiction which was all about drugs and stuff.

Well, I'm in a 4 year program which decides my generals for me...

Or else I probably wouldn't dislike them as much.

Tell your program to suck it!  "I do what I want!"

i would agree with that statement. by causing  you to excessively stay home and study, and stress eat, i can see how people become more round thanks to generals.

Are you doing the Honors Program? The reason I didn't stay in that was because I wanted to pick my own generals instead of doing their classes. From what I've heard the Honors Program has grown a lot since then, though. I know I would have lived on the freshman honors floor in the dorms if it had existed when I was a freshman. But then I never would have met Taylor. Wink   (I met him through my old roommates I randomly moved in with as a freshman.)

I'm basically locked in until I get into the B.School.

How do you think I gained all the weight?!?!  Well, actually, I think that when you declare a CS major you automatically gain 30 pounds.
