Okay, a couple days ago Mr. Killa asked me to compile a recommendation on who and how admin abilities should be handed out. Since I wasn't familiar with all Mani commands, I had to read up on them. It has taken me a while, but I feel like we atleast have a good start and possibly a good finish. First let me start out with an explanation on my KrAzY proposal. I have always felt that admin abilities should not be given out to all oPg members, unless they've proven themselves. I have also felt a good deal of discretion should be applied in giving admins out. They should be judged by: A players age but most importantly their maturity level. Wether or not they let emotion affect their choices in a sizable manner. Their knowledge of CS: S, so they can identify hackers and help players. The times they log in. Wether they have proven their abilities thru time. Their general rapport with the community. I have now informed you as to who I would give admins to. In the interest of moving on, browse the poorly made attached html file to see how I would give abilities out. Admin Abilities

I could make those different levels of power in mani pretty easily.
But you get to do up the admin flags.
Also try making the names shorter, having to type those every single time I add an admin would be hell.

HaHa, I didn't realise the naming of groups was required. I can fix it.
I'll research the admin flags, figure out who what and how to make. Don't fully understand them, but I'll figure it out.

I feel the need to further explain why I did what I did, before decisions are made.
First of all we should try and lump together the admin powers, into different categories. Major offense punishment (ban) Small offense punishment (kick) Anti-AFK powers (Move to spec...) Anti-n00b, help n00b powers (drop c4, beacon, slap, slay, display player rates) Informative powers (Direct & All chat, question vote) Fun promotion (knife, pistol, shotgun rounds & map change) Skrew around with offenders (Teleport, burn...) God admin powers (RCON access...)
Now that we have them categorized, lets find out why and who I applied the categories to.
God Admin Has every ability known to man. These people run the server, and largely consist of the server's owners.
Admin Has all abilities that do not change the server's configuration. These admins are mature and absolutly trusted, they are also well respected by players. They are given all of the following abilities because they know when and how to use them. Major offense punishment (ban) Small offense punishment (kick) Anti-AFK powers (Move to spec...) Anti-n00b, help n00b powers (drop c4, beacon, slap, slay, display player rates) Informative powers (Direct & All chat, question vote) Fun promotion (knife, pistol, shotgun rounds & map change) Skrew around with offenders (Teleport, burn...)
Hacker Police Has all entry-level abilities & what he needs to find and ban hackers. He has proven himself trustworthy as an entry-level admin prior to promotion, and demonstrated enough knowledge of CS to accuratly identify hackers. Major offense punishment (ban) Small offense punishment (kick) Anti-AFK powers (Move to spec...) Anti-n00b, help n00b powers (drop c4, beacon, slap, slay, display player rates) Informative powers (Direct & All chat, question vote) Fun promotion (knife, pistol, shotgun rounds & map change)
Entry level admin Polices the server for small time offenses. Also deals with AFKs and noobs that are "holding up" the game. Has proven himself a trustworthy individual, actively participates in the communitym has a good knowledge of CS.
Small offense punishment (kick) Anti-AFK powers (Move to spec...) Anti-n00b, help n00b powers (drop c4, beacon, slap, slay, display player rates) Informative powers (Direct & All chat, question vote)
Senior Member Has the all chat and direct chat abilities. His purpose is totactfully inform rule breakers of transgression while no admin is present. And since he has all chat, he can be a detterent to rule breakers. He must be an active and proven member of the community, and know to only use his ability for it's designted purpose.

K I'd cut it off at entry level admin, providing some changes are made.
I think that having too many tiers of admins just opens up a can of worms.
I think entry level should not have slap, beacon, or question vote. Too many people would run question votes such as "AM I THE MOST AMAZING PLAYER EVER???" Choices: "Yes" "Yes" and slapping/beaconing have proved themselves in the past to be a severe source of abuse. However, the rest looks really good.
I'll write up some flags like that come wednesday or so. Before then I have 2 huge tests which I must study for.

Roger, that's most peoples worry.
I did however kind of feel, that if your given the ability to ban you should be responsible enough to use beacon and slap appropriatly. Maybe we should just be stricter on who it's given to? Just a thought.

Sorry, let me clarify I meant that I'd cut it off AFTER entry level admin.
Take them on as the "admins in training" or "psuedo-admins" but dont' give them too many abilities.

Okay, I can agree with that. Just use that group as a temporary one, for like one month training/proving? Makes sense to me . And than ditch the senior members deally? The idea is more unique than anything. It actually originated from the fact that if not all oPgs were made admins, they should atleast be able to use all chat.
