tetris is so unrealistic

I've read a lot of mixed reviews regarding this game. Some say it's not that good and some love it. I wouldn't save I love it but it definetly doesn't suck.

So, quick overview: Human kind needs a new planet to reside on. They choose a planet that happens to be very, very cold and believe it to be unhabitied. It isn't. There are very large bug things that are mean there. This is a very quick overview.

Let me first say that the graphics in this game are AMAZING. The particle engines they use for explosions are the best I have ever, ever, EVER seen. I shoot shit just to see it explode - and almost EVERYTHING explodes. The game is very fun to play - most the time. One very cool aspect is the Mech units you get. There are several of these - I think I've seen like 4 or so, so far. Each one has different abilities (fast shooting missles, double jump, turn into a snow mobile... thingy.. etc). Generally these are lots of fun. Somtimes it seems like you can't shoot people very well with the gautlen gun. Another fun aspect of the game is your grapel. You don't have to use it very often in the game, but fun none the less. The game starts a little slow which is a little decptive. Once you get past the first level it gets pretty crazy. There are plent of differnt guns to kill people with (shotgun, machine gun, rocket launcher, energy gun -- you can take guns off of the mechs and use those).

Some falls backs -- first some of the bosses are just annoying to beat. They shoot you, you fall and as soon as you get up - bamm - another missle rocks your ass - rinse and repeat until you are dead. So far the story isn't the best. I have really no idea what's going on and I don't skip any scenes. Graple is hardly ever used. I wish this would have been more vital to sucess in the game. The B button is used for too many functions. They made it so when you press B your guy trys to rifle whip somebody... but, B also is the action button (pick things up, make things work, dig, etc). When you are trying to pick something up real fast, it's a pain in the ass - you have to wait until you are perfectly over it.

Side note - change your speed of your joystick. They give you a lot of options for this and I have mine on accelerate 4. The default is too slow when you are trying to look around.

I haven't played the multiple player yet which is suppose to be sick. I just don't want to pay for xbox live - bastards make me pay to play with other people...

Overall I dig the game and would recommend it. I would give this game a 8.2/10.

Sounds sweet.  I'll have to keep that in mind for when/if I get an xbox360.

Paying to play does suck, but xbox live is fun.  I hope Nintendo develops as powerful for the wii.
