Just beat it, thought it was pretty meh.

Ending was especially meh.

Gameplay was fun, as always.

But story development and the things which made me want to beat the first game again on insane were just not there. I mean, where is the hard end boss?

Overall: was impressed with the game up until the end. The ending ruined it for me.

I played it for about an hour or two and wasn't too impressed.  It's basically Gears of War continued, with a meh storyline and crappy dialogue.

There were a few moments were I was genuinely impressed, but for the most part it was subpar for GoW. I actually enjoyed GoW as a game and found the story fun. GoW 2 seemed to be nothing more than a giant set up for a conclusion. If, and only if, they manage to make HUGE fireworks go off in the 3rd gears with the strings they opened with the story in the 2nd one, then I'll be impressed. Otherwise, I'll wonder how a focused game wandered so much.

Sounds like halo all over again.

i thoroughly enjoyed it.
while the story was fairly subpar, the level design and gameplay is awesome. i dont care much for the vehicle segments, but i really liked everything else.
i beat the campaign solo on hardcore today. the ending was serious meh- a setup for gow3 for sure.
ill probably beat it on insane with ross when he finally opens his copy and has some time. after that i dont think i will touch the campaign again.
im trying to get together a good five to get to 50 on horde mode tonight, anybody down?
i think its worth the sixty dollars i paid for it. i think its way more fun than farcry2 or fallout3- though thats a big apples to oranges.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts.

I haven't tried horde, but I've heard it's pretty much the awesome. Makes me a titch more interested in picking the game back up.

Been playing some horde and love it.

Now I just need to find a team who can actually beat it.

I can easily make it up to 18-19.

The problem is most of the people who join leave after the 10th wave and by the 18th-19th wave it has dwindled to myself and one other person. Always.

It's quite frustrating.
