Dunno where the console section went, so I'll put this here.

Anyone picking it up?

Thoughts?

Definitely getting it.

I can't wait for:

Fallout 3 (already available for download)
Gears of War 2
Dead Space

but probably most of all Fable 2.

A leaked review somewhere gave it a 9.5

I can always keep my hopes up it's a non-biased pre-release review.

Is it lame combat that has little to do with fast reflexes like Oblivion?  Or is it more of a Dark Messiah of Might and Magic type gameplay?

Neither.

It's a 3rd person RPG. Not as slow as oblivion, not as quick as Dark Messiah - the happy medium. Entirely different skill set involved than the 1st person RPG.

Hmm.  I'll prolly demo it on bittorrent before deciding to buy.  Sounds interesting.

Well Fable one eventually came out for the PC, a year later.

Dead Space is a blast.  I'm a big fan.

If you liked Oblivion, I'd image you'd like Fallout 3.

It's kind of weird though, because ammo is super sparse.  You have people shooting at you, but you want to conserve ammo so you have to run up and pummel them while they continue to shoot at you.

Also, I've never been a fan of FPS on consoles, which this has more or less turned out to be.

Far Cry 2 is now available for DL.  I'll have to wait for the PC version though.  FPS games = lose on console.

Word has it that Fable II should be up within 12 hours.
