Well, the most anticipated game for the past id say 2-3 years is around the corner. I just played the demo last night on my buddy's computer and all that came to thought is WOW. He has a NVidia 8800 and he can only run the game on 3/4th's of its max settings because if he tries to run it any better his computer crashes. In order for this game to function at MAX settings dual nvidia 8800 SLI enabled graphics cards are needed....this game was created for those who keep their stuff up to date.

The basis of the game is that your a American Special Forces member in a specialized suit that is paradropped into North Korean Territory in the year 2020. Your suit contains special abilities that allow you to run faster, have extra strength, or cloak yourself. All these take up energy of the suit which when at 0, the ability cancels itself and allows the energy to re-charge. Any gun you pick up you can customize...as in put a silencer, laser, or scope on it.

The environment is fully destructable...palm trees can be decimated with your weapons...fall...and crash to the ground...the same with buildings. You have no idea how much fun destroying Northe Korean sheds with a pickup truck or your fists is. Theres a wide variety of land and sea based vehicles which truely utilizes the games astonishing physics capabilities with things such as drifts. The explosions are amazingly realistic as is other small detail within the game...youd be suprised how much detail goes into the flora alone.

I'd say the most fun part of this game is running around with super strength on punching NK soldiers and watching them fly through the air...

absolutley astonishing game and the Only game ive ever critiqued and gave a 10/10

That's because you haven't played Starcraft 2 yet! Grin

And I'm about 100% sure it's called "Crysis"

What are your specs Crackie?

Just having an 8800 shouldn't meant you can max out the settings.  You need the rest of your computer to be up to par.  Plus they have so many 8800s that just saying you have one doesn't mean much.  You need a nice one.

No Jed there is absolutely no way this can be played on one 8800GTS you need dual SLI in order to completely max out the game without your comp crashing or overheating...its that ridiculous

I'll believe it when I see it, which will be soon.  I think that an Ultra is 40% faster then the best GTS, which most of you don't own.  Running any card in SLI can potentially boost your card's performance by 50% if I'm not mistaken.  And that is just potential, most likely you won't get that out of it.

What specific video card have you run this on?

Just a thought.. If a game is built specific for SLI  wouldn't it get more than a 50% increase in performance.

I mean its the same as a dual core chip isn't it?   2 doing the work of 1 only works if you divide the work up correctly..

What I meant by potential is that most games won't utilize it at all.  But that games designed for SLI can get up to a 50% boost.  Which is why I never wanted SLI.  I was also under the impression that crossfire could perform better than SLI.

But I'm no authority on the subject.  Please prove me wrong, I'd love it if I was.
