So what games do you have fuzzy nostalgia when you remember playing them? I have a pretty good list:

Red Faction (multiplayer was so fun, especially with the awesome ratpack maps - did anyone else play them? I noticed a few of those maps were remade to work with HL2 MP)

Unreal Tournament (again, some user maps made this game so much fun, and there were so many to download)

Ghost Recon [CO-OP] (I went through the whole campaign and all the expansions in co-op mode ... it was intense)

Quake (I played that Shrak mod almost every day for a year at home on the little LAN we put together)

Warcraft 2 (I always lost, though)

Jedi Knight/Jedi Knight 2 (lightsabers and force powers! and scotch! at work!)

Sturmovik [CO-OP] (you have to find or make your own missions to make it fun, though)

More recently, a few games were pretty fun but didn't seem to really take off like that Command and Conquer FPS, Tribes 2, etc.

Chaos Theory
Oooh.  We might have to play that one sometime.  I eventually gave the game up because I could never find teammates that were any good.

That would be fun, I am an extremely patient person with good ears, but never did play it online much for basically the same reason.  I don't know how good I am though.

wow, i think the highlight of my life was when i and a friend played doom via 14.4k modem... i can remeber that day like it was yesterday... I think outside of that was playing quake on this intraweb. oh the feeling of ice skating around the level when 250 was a good ping... those were the days baby.  I remember reading about online play in pcgamer magizine and just wising that i could someday do it.  Oh and it was a battle between quake ctf and quake teamfortress... as to the next best games. Wow, i've been playing games for a long time. Duke3d was also a wonderful game to play with all the atitude you can handle.  As far as RTS games i would say that my altime fav has to be total annialation. it was fun to play then its still fun to play now. Note: dirrty = teh nerd...

That reminds me, talking about Duke, the new one is coming out pretty soon. Looks like the same kinda gameplay as the old one ... I never played that much MP, but it was pretty good.

I remember playing Linewarz MP over the connection you could make between two computers via the printer port. That was good, too. It's nice to think of that old amazement the first time you could actually see your friend in your game (especially after all the technical difficulties getting it to even work MP) ... later generations just take MP for advantage.
