The largest recorded nested bird roast is 17 birds, attributed to a royal feast in France in the early 19th century (originally called a Rôti Sans Pareil, or "Roast without equal") - a bustard stuffed with a turkey, a goose, a pheasant, a chicken, a duck, a guinea fowl, a teal, a woodcock, a partridge, a plover, a lapwing, a quail, a thrush, a lark, an Ortolan Bunting and a Garden Warbler. That's... beautiful.

well no. its been around for a while. but i do love it when frank does john about the turducken and how it looks like john is about to salivate all over the thing - or go crazy. im not quite sure which is better.

i've made three so far all were amazing and huge hits, its a decent amount of work (the first one took me probably like 9 hours total of prep and cook time the 2nd and 3rd went a lot faster) but I tend to be ambitious when I cook but i wouldnt be doing them except for special occasions. If you want to make one this is the guide I followed http://www.blacktable.com/turducken031223.htm for taking all the bones out of the birds and such. They say to use 3 stuffings I just stuck with one. A single serving of turducken has 1,639 calories, 107.2 grams of total fat, 577 milligrams of cholesterol, 539 milligrams of sodium and 156.9 grams of protein. Considering that this is a rough estimate -- one that doesn't seem to include the affect of stuffing or gravy -- and given that there are about 3,500 calories in a single pound of fat, a single question comes to mind:

i have a new record to beat

I think I could get an ostrich and an emu around all that
