Why are people at sears such complete f.ucking morons? God dammit all I asked was if any of their variable speed dremels came in a 1/4" collet as opposed to 1/8". The kid looked at me dumbfounded, as though I was ranting and raving in a foreign language indigenous to some ass backwards Tundra in Siberia. Then I asked for a 1/4" drill bit to just make a test fitment since their descriptions of their tools are catered to f.uckwits who think that having eleventybillion shitty attachments for their tools makes them a more viable item and a better buy. HELL NO IT DOESN'T; IT DOES A VAST RANGE OF SHITTY JOBS AS OPPOSED TO ONE GOOD ONE. I wanted a tool with a 1/4" collet that spins really effing fast, and after 15 minutes of them trying to find a 1/4" bit I finally was able to confirm what I could have in the first place had their stats pages or features on the box simply told me so.

Not to sound sexist, but should I be asking Jake this question? He is after all of the male persuasion and has probably had similar experiences at the same stores.

Yeah, I wouldn't think Lissa would be the one to ask about this issue.

A. She would not know wtf you are talking about.

B. Once she found out it was a pwertool she definately would not give a flying, you know.

It's easy.  The kid you were talking to probably makes $5.75 an hour and only does it for the extra cash.  He has no vested interest in anything you talk about, and thus has no reason to offer any more help than the occasional, "uh..."

I've had too much experience dealing with the same people, but frankly, I can't say that I blame them.  For this reason, I buy nearly everything requiring any knowledge online, or at least do my research online before buying it in store so I don't have to ask the high school kids who could care less anything.

It is pretty sad that you can't count on the people that are selling these items to have anything but the most basic knowledge of them though, for sure.

i love powertools.
and just for that david, my next pictorial selections will include tools.  Tongue

and yeah, jake is right in what he's sayin. you should do your own research online before asking someone in store to validate how clueless they really are.

Looks like he did start to do some online research and then might have decided their online info blew regurgitated fruitcake with holly berries so he could probably figure out which one was right for him easier using a more hands on approach in-store.

That said, you could give me the best damn power tools out there and I'm still gonna do a million shitty jobs instead of one good one, because I suck at arts & crafts but I like using power tools so I'm not going to stop playing with them till I've done a million shitty jobs.

Reminds me of King of the Hill when Hank goes to Mega Lo Mart and the kid has no f***ing clue where the hardware department even is.

Ask to speak to the dept manager. They usually know something.

So nothing in their description says anything about collet size, and I've just discovered that my debit card has only been initially billed for $59.99, which is 90 bucks short of what it should be. Turns out in the receipt I got some typical corporate bullshit that reads "Retain for comparison with monthly statement or for return or exchange." Hey moron, this wasn't a sears card, and you never asked me if I wanted to be indebted to your bullshit company. I don't owe anyone anything, and until I have to bite the bullet and take out student loans and a house payment someday, I'm going to keep it that way. My carbide bits are at the workshop, and I haven't gotten a chance to actually use it other than to turn it on and confirm that it works, so I'm half tempted to just take it back tomorrow and be done will all this crap. I don't think I'll ever buy from sears again as soon as this transaction comes to a close. Updates tomorrow when I storm in there in a rage that would frighten a horde of rabid monkeys.

My dad loves Sears.  He used to talk about their tools all the time like god crafted them and sold them through that particular store with an eternity warranty.

Maybe you should get a candid recording of the dumb one and post it all over You Tube.  He'll get fired and everyone will have learned a valuable lesson.
