The next novel in Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen comes out in September. If you're into epic fantasy stories, I suggest you go pick up Gardens of the Moon and get started on the series now. The scope of these novels is amazing, and his writing is great; it blows every other series I've read out of the water. Furthermore, Ian Esselmont's Night of Knvies came out recently. Esselmont and Erikson are co-creators of the world of the Malazan Empire, and Night of Knives is Esselmont's first story. It actually precedes the events that take place in Erikson's stories, but I suggest reading Erikson's work first. If you are a fantasy fan, pick up these books; you won't regret it.

Me neither. But I do have the intrawebs. Which is a solid replacement.

Only if you're intelligent and motivated enough to use it. Which I, of course, am not.

how does this stack up/compare to other fantasy books you've read.
I feel like i've worn out the genre.

Personally, I think these novels are the next great leap, so to speak. The complexity of the world they occur in is astounding; the writing is gritty and fun to read. It doesn't get as repetitive as many of the fantasy series I've read have, and Erikson introduces some fairly novel concepts in his work. It's kind of hard for me to make comparisons, especially since I'm not sure of everything you've read. But if you're into fantasy, I seriously doubt you'll be disappointed.
