I got HP book 7 on pre-order. I think they have always been a good read.

I finished the 6th book 7 hours after it came out, I plan on beating that record with the 7th Cheesy

Anyway, I finished the Dune series a while ago, excellent read. Then I picked up the ascension series, utterly boring. Frank Herbert is amazing on his own, but when paired up, his work turns to mush.

Theseadays I'm generally reading whatever is required for AP English. Don't get much time to read anything else.

as bad as it sounds. i actually have 2 copies on pre order for those. hrm.
but the dune series is one of my all time favorites. Around book 4 you start to feel like you are a incredible genius because you know everything leto knows. and that is a damned lot.

I just finished reading "The Joy Luck Club" by Amy Tan.  It took me a while to get into and I kept getting distracted by other books (Harry Potter, ahem), but in the end I really loved it.  The chapters read like individual short stories written from the individual perspectives of four Chinese women and their American-born daughters, but they tie together nicely.  I enjoyed it.
I've been meaning to read "Kite Runner," but I don't know that much about it.  I also picked up a book last week that a friend recommended called "Twilight," and it turns out it's really trendy or something.  Hopefully it's good; sometimes books with lots of hype are just awful.

I read Kite Runner. It was good in the same way that Arabs and gay anal rape are good. Otherwise, it was pretty "deep" or whatever.

Amy Tan is a really good writer. that book is pretty good. though its been years since I have read it.

As far as kite runner goes, its a good book. and extremely impressive for his first novel.

On old GF gave me Kite Runner for XMas two years ago.  I guess I'll go ahead and read it after I finish the Thomas Friedman book I'm reading (to try and figure out WTH is really going on in the ME).

Um. I bet you're a Giant Ball of Hate... that probably is where to start.
