Bad admins

So I dunno which admins where in the OPG server when this happen, but I do know Donk was tragdor from his steam id.

But I'm playing in the OPG server, and my friend joins in, and obviously trying hard in a pub is a bannable offense.
He gets a lucky 1 deag on an admin and its instant ban.

After asking why he was banned I get banned also. And the bad admin says Be Quiet in it.

Now these may be temp ban's but still this is pretty bad when admins just ban people because their better than them. Banning for trying hard or getting 1 deags is retarded. You guys need to stop giving admin out to noobs who do what they want because their just terrible at the game. This isn't the first time this has happen on this server.

I don't want to go to another server because I enjoy playing on this server because theirs active good players. But cleaning up the bad admins who kick constant good players because they "think" they hack is BS.

Please understand me Labyrinthine, I get where you are coming from with the admin respect. Honestly I do. But i have been around this server/forums for awhile, and it seems to me you guys hide behind the admin respect to much.

Typical situation:

Admin wrongfully bans somone > they rightfuly get mad and sometimes say something disrespectful > OPG community now ignores the fact that the admin originally started this by wrongfully/unjustly banning someone and now makes an example of of the person who got mad for being treated unfairly.

Its a vicious cycle and both sides end up doing some questionable things, but it seems here when it all goes down all the OPG community cares about is what the community does to them.... not really how the community was wronged to begin with.

You cant go punch a lion in the mouth and then pretend you have some predisposed right for him not to bite you. Lets focus on this problem from where it started from....the admin.

I did that because the admin reason for banning was "either he was walling or you where ghosting", "either way, ban".

Now that isn't a reason to ban someone because you think hes walling. He has a few good rounds good for him. Now for the ghosting part, I was still alive so I don't think that's possible for me to ghost for my friend, even though we weren't in vent for one. This was on the new map, and I was coming around CT spawn, he was still sitting in mid with the awp, and heard me got a good angle shoot me. As I was dying the bomb was planted and he heard donk plant it since its literally like 10 feet away. It's so easy to hear anything on this map. He runs around and donk's jumping off the ledge above the bomb site and gets 1 deag in the face because he lands in my friends cross hair when coming around the corner.

If this is the banable offense for walling /or ghosting that is why I came off like that. It was a bad judgement call on his part because he had no proof. He just went off of him getting killed.

Now on the part about me calling the admins noobs, Not all of you guys are. But some of you don't make the best decisions from time to time, and you shouldn't just ban people after 1 or 2 rounds like donk did.

I knew my ban was only temporary but that wasn't the point of this thread.

It was the bans admins hand out to other players, on quick decisions with no proof.

Your analogy was true. At the moment the umpires have the final say, and donk had the final say in the server by banning me (in the baseball game if you will)

But the difference is if the umpire made a grossly unfair call, they are held responsible for it after the game. You think that umpire would be returning to rule over another game? unlikely.

So I just dont like the idea of "Hes an admin hes right, ride out your ban and the move on."

Thats a slap in the face to someone who has done nothing wrong.

I have issues with 2 parts of this post.

1. There is time to plant the bomb and run up the ladder in the time it takes someone to run from behind the big wooden box after shooting someone and get into site around that corner.  Did i expect you up there? Not at all......which is why my crosshair was level with the ground when i came around the corner perfect for shooting you while u were jumping off the ledge/boxes whatever it was.

2. Just because we arnt active in every area of this community doesnt mean we arnt still a part of the community. You get no bonus points by segregating us from the community by saying we only play on the CSS server.    ....that is still part of the community.


.....i sure hope you took a demo (which i know is impossible because u banned me right after i killed you, rage more)

Sorry but those where order of events, that could take place over 10 secs if you went up the ladder there, which I think you did. All I remember is after my friend killed me I switch to his cam. He was running around the corner with his deagle out and I saw you in mid air. So I only assumed you went up the ladder after planting, than saw me died and jump off to get a good angle on him. And as you landed / running towards him as he came around he shot you in the face.

I don't think we are going beyond the actual point, It's a game and we're trying to play. The first reactions out of most admins are "BAN". Because they think their all high and mighty for being the admin of the server usually. And I don't expect that from OPG admins because it's a good community. That's why I started this topic.

I completely agree with this and I think it needs to be brought and fixed.  I have noted this on numerous occasions.  Often times our admins are not sympathetic enough with the person.  If they come in here slightly pissed that is understandable.  And then our admins band together and get defensive.  Like you say both sides are to blame and it creates a vicious cycle that could have been avoided were we slightly more understanding.  

And I think this is an excellent example.  Laby, IMO that was a HUGE over reaction.  

After reading Donk's report I agree that it could easily have been a coincidence and a ban was excessive.  But Donk is generally a great admin, so I assume that it was just one of those rare times when he makes a bad call.  

Since we expect people to apologize if they've been an idiot on the server.  I think it prudent to also expect our admins to apologize when they make a bad call.

And relax, you've made your points.  Donk made a judgment call..  He banned you for a short period of time and posted in the Forums accordingly.  

You're all acting as if he ran off every player in the server by setting people on fire and teleporting others.  

You don't have much of a case beyond your ban being lifted and it already has.  Now your just bitching to bitch.

And JED, stop calling admins out to apologize when you really have no idea whats happened.  You can't ask him to apologize for what he viewed was breaking a server rule.

And im not trying to say we have a right to come in here and rage over bans and the admins just have to swallow it. But we usually are mad, specially when nobody did anything wrong. And as the admins who have the "say" or "power" here I think that puts you in a position to have to overlook the anger and deal with the issue.

I didn't even go up the ladder... geez.. you weren't banned for killing me.  Or it would've said something else like aimbot or something else stupid.  Don't accuse when you don't know.  As I should follow my own advice.  You both should of been able to get back into the server by now.  If you would like to make this a "remove donk's admin thread" be my guest.  Even put up a vote, because if you knew anything about our community you'd realize that we are a democracy.  Obviously everyone has agreed that the ban was unnecessary and that I went about it the wrong way, but just like always the internet seems to be serious business.  Just agree to disagree and save youself many hours on a forum I doubt you'll ever return to.
